RICK NELSON

Fitness for the Athlete in All of Us

Rick Nelson’s training philosophy is a unique 360° style that focuses on flex-mobility and strength conditioning grounded in functionality and efficiency to enrich personal wellness. He works with clients to carve out session plans that look at the whole picture. Rick shares, “It’s not about me. My training sessions are individual, custom plans. Together we address your physical needs, goals, and abilities.”

Rick’s sessions apply to your specific mechanics, body type, hobbies, daily routine and more. So, when you do the work, you progress building on achievements one after the other. “Movement of any kind, just makes us mentally better. I work to educate my clients about the most efficient ways to condition or recondition their bodies so that they can get what they need out of life.”

Rick doesn’t spare words, “Sitting is the new cancer. Plain and simple, what can we do to battle being a sitting and hunching society?” From him, you can learn the power of exercise and how physical training can detox the stresses we’re inflicting on ourselves during the day-to-day.

Athletics has been a whole life progression for Rick. Growing up in California, playing 18 on the golf course was almost an everyday thing. He engaged in many sports and ultimately became a D1 athlete. His passion sparked a professional career launched by a BA in Physical Education and Sports Medicine from San Diego State University. After a 2-year stint as a Master Trainer for 24 Hour Fitness, he branched out on his own, because he wanted to coach with a more individualized approach. “My obsession with sports is what made me ultimately fall in love with fitness. But it’s my clients that made me fall in love with personal training. I genuinely care about each and every one of them and their well-being. Watching them reach each small win – it’s awesome,” shares Rick.
